Engaging Workers to Achieve Total Worker Health® (AIHce EXP 2022 OnDemand)
Course Description:
Recorded at AIHce EXP 2022

Total Worker Health® (TWH) is an emerging concept that takes occupational safety and health to the next level to address the needs of the workforce to include such health concerns as stress, chronic diseases, and living well into older age. This multidimensional new field has grown in popularity since it was introduced by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health in 2011. Total Worker Health® programs involve five elements, one key element is to promote and support worker engagement throughout program design and implementation. Worker engagement is critical for identifying issues that matter, finding solutions that work, and building buy-in and self-efficacy for change. The Center for the Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace (CPH-NEW), a NIOSH Total Worker Health® Center of Excellence, has research-based, field-tested tools, training, and education to help professionals deepen their skills at engaging workers. This session will provide: a) an introduction to Total Worker Health® approaches focusing on worker engagement, b) a review of HWPP, c) case studies to illustrate Total Worker Health® practices and d) tips on worker engagement.
