EH&S Professionals' Journeys From Safety to Wellness (AIHce EXP 2022 OnDemand)
Course Description:
Recorded at AIHce EXP 2022

Total Worker Health® is not a new concept, but workplace delivery models are still in developmental stages. During this session, an occupational medicine physician will describe a model in which safety and IH professionals expand their role to become employee health advocates while experiencing their own journey. It involves a transition from a focus on onsite interventions for physical hazard prevention to physiological hazard prevention in collaboration with clinical partners to achieve holistic risk reduction. The model features the use of AI-powered platforms and mobile apps for wellness, lifestyle, injury prevention and chronic disease management that are designed to engage employees in their own health and well-being. Safety to Wellness gives EH&S professionals the opportunity to make a difference for companies and working populations by taking conscious steps to reverse chronic disease trends, support mental health, prevent musculoskeletal discomfort, and reduce related medical care and insurance costs. Value dashboards and outcomes data from the Safety to Wellness model will be presented.
