Each year OSHA's industrial hygienists perform thousands of health inspections of general industry, maritime, agriculture, and construction sites and on occasion, discover workplaces that have interesting health exposures. health hazards. Part 2 of this three-part education session will present: 1) Assessment of Occupational Radiation Exposure for Hospital Employees; and 2) Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis Associated with Exposure to Metalworking Fluids. This session will discuss: a) an OSHA federal inspection and the results of overexposure to ionizing radiation; b) the OSHA inspection process for federal employers; c) how OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.1096 Ionizing Radiation standard applies to the healthcare industry; d) OSHA's structure and use of experts from OSHA's Salt Lake Technical Center Health Response Team; e) an OSHA general industry inspection regarding employee exposure to endotoxins; f) utilizing the experts with OSHA's Office of Occupational Medicine and Nursing to confirm hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP); and g) abatement methods to prevent and control exposure to HP from metalworking fluids.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this lecture, attendees will:
