This session will discuss: a) an OSHA federal inspection and the results of overexposure to ionizing radiation; b) the OSHA inspection process for federal employers; c) how OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.1096 Ionizing Radiation standard applies to the healthcare industry; d) OSHA's structure and use of experts from OSHA's Salt Lake Technical Center Health Response Team; e) an OSHA general industry inspection regarding employee exposure to endotoxins; f) utilizing the experts with OSHA's Office of Occupational Medicine and Nursing to confirm hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP); and g) abatement methods to prevent and control exposure to HP from metalworking fluids.
