How Big Data, AI, and ML Are Changing the EHS Profession (AIHce EXP 2022 OnDemand)
Course Description:
Recorded at AIHce EXP 2022

Big data, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are all the craze these days. The number of data scientists in the workforce continues to expand. The benefits of these new technologies have been widely demonstrated, and they're being implemented in a variety of industries and professions around the world. This has many professionals asking, "Could these technologies eventually replace us?" These tools will never replace the professional expertise of humans when performing qualitative risk and exposure assessments, agile analysis when work processes change, or effective two-way communication to key stakeholders. They can help us work smarter, more accurately, efficiently, and with more focus. During this session, participants will learn: 1) the important role they play when implementing these technologies; 2) the current limitations of these tools; 3) proven use cases and processes to follow to ensure success; 4) effective methods to communicate project goals and activities; and 5) the value of these new technologies to the organization as a whole.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this lecture, attendees will:
  • • Define what big data, AI and ML are, and how they are impacting the EHS.
  • • Describe how each technology has been used in IH and ergonomics.
  • • Apply simple methods to communicate the value of these technologies to key business stakeholders.
