Possibilities and Challenges With Sustainable Development Goals (AIHce EXP 2022 OnDemand)
Course Description:
Recorded at AIHce EXP 2022

The world has committed to implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) adopted by United Nations (UN) Member States in September 2015. At the heart of the SDG Agenda are five critical dimensions: people, prosperity, planet, partnership, and peace. The overarching aim is to leave no one behind. All countries, and all stakeholders have to act in a collaborative partnership. The #8 SDG is the goal for decent work and economic growth. What is the place of decent work in sustainable development and in peoples' lives? What is the positive outcome of decent work for these other goals? Within the six SDG Transformations have been defined as the modular building blocks of SDG achievement respecting the strong interdependencies across the 17 SDG's. Each transformation identifies priority investments and regulatory challenges calling for actions by well-defined parts of government, business, and civil society. We, as the OHS community, will have to discuss how we can: 1) support the work needed to achieve the sustainable development goals; 2) find support for OHS and SDG; and 3) promote the knowledge and expertise we can bring to the table as industrial/occupational hygienists.
