This is an exciting look at the variety of health and safety needs within the entertainment and news industry. Health and safety issues across the entertainment industry change depending on the type of production. This session will take a look at different case studies across the following major production types: feature films, television series/docu-series, theatre and news. The challenges for OHS professionals, resources, unique solutions and the future of OHS in the entertainment industry will be discussed.

Upon completion of the session, the participant will be able to:
  • Identify the major types of productions and the roles of OHS professionals.
  • Assess the unique health and safety challenges of these productions.
  • Determine the skills needed to create workable and safe solutions for the industry.
  • Recognize the inherent challenges of OHS professionals on the set.
