This educational session will describe the existing shortage of occupational safety and health (OSH) professionals, and the related need for associated training and education. New and ongoing global collaborations taking place in OSH training, education, and curriculum development at all levels will be presented. The session will provide an update on the activities of the Education Committee of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA). New and ongoing projects between IOHA members and other global organizations including the Occupational Health Training Association (OHTA), Workplace Health Without Borders (WHWB), and the European Network for Education and Training in Occupational Safety and Health (ENETOSH) will be discussed. Recommendations for OSH curricula being developed for Masters, Bachelors, Associate, Certificate programs will be proposed. The ENETOSH model and concept of mainstreaming OSH into university, vocational, high school, elementary, and kindergarten education will be presented. Mainstreaming projects taking place in Oklahoma and other U.S. regions, and collaborations with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will be discussed. New and ongoing global mainstreaming projects and collaborations will be reviewed.
