Recently released standards, guidelines, and mandates regarding the need to manage the risk of waterborne pathogens often require IHs to provide technical expertise. This PDC will present the tools needed to assess of risk of Legionella in building water systems. Topics include: 1) Legionella Risk Assessment; 2) measurements for water quality, disinfectant levels, and temperatures; and 3) initial, routine, and outbreak assessments of building water systems. Case studies will be used to demonstrate when specific techniques, methods, and analyses are appropriate.
