2017 AIHce On Demand - Sampling & Analysis Bundle

Bundle and Save!

This AIHce On Demand bundle includes 5 Sampling & Analysis session recordings from AIHce 2017:

Biological Monitoring Methods
This panel provides an overview into developments in biological monitoring and biomarker methods to detect chemicals absorbed into the human body. Direct-reading immunoassay methods, a method to isolate a biomarker and measure it, studies used to ensure quality in laboratory results, and use of inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometric methods for metals will be discussed. Sampling and laboratory analysis requirements will be reviewed.

Sampling, Analytical Methodology and Testing, Part 1
This technical session will provide information on 1. the new EPA rule for formaldehyde and development of chambers for evaluating emissions; 2. a passive sampling device (DSD-DNPH) for formaldehyde; and 3. a unique diffusive sampling badge with three compartments.

Sampling, Analytical Methodology and Testing, Part 2
This technical session will provide information on: modification of existing methods for analyzing similar class compounds; a description of current and upcoming elemental sampling and analytical methods in the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods (NMAM); and the effectiveness of utilizing an IOM personal sampling cassette for analysis of metal working fluids.

Current Advances in Sampling Methods
Comparison of Formaldehyde Sampling Methods
The project is intended to determine the most reliable and accurate formaldehyde sampling method for use within painting operations. Side by side samples for formaldehyde were collected using the following methods: NIOSH 2016, NIOSH 2541, and OSHA 1007. Analysis of the data indicated a consistent trend in the data whereby NIOSH2541 > NIOSH2016 > OSHA1007. Consideration should be given to method selection for formaldehyde exposure assessments in painting envir
