Bundle and Save! Acute and Emergency Exposure Limits for Chemical Release Incidents In chemical release incidents, an important role of industrial hygienists is to provide guidance on the identification, selection, and implementation of acute and emergency exposure limits. There are many alternative limits, (i.e. ERPGs, AEGLs, etc.). This session will describe some of the key features of alternative values, web-based or downloadable information, and the practical aspects of selection and use of these limits. Integrating the IH with the First Responder This presentation will describe: 1. the interoperability of first responders and IH at emergency incidents; 2. how industrial hygienists can support the first responder; 3. equipment utilized by first responders to determine a safe environment; and 4. the work of the InterAgency Board. Mock Emergency Response, Part 1 This abbreviated table top exercise will walk attendees through the first 24 hours of an emergency and what is expected of the safety and health personnel who support response operations. The presenters will work with attendees to understand what they need to do to prepare for an emergency and actions to take when they arrive on-scene. Additionally, attendees will learn how to gather critical information, build a team, and begin assessing the risk. Mock Emergency Response, Part 2 This Mock ER continues where Mock ER, Part 1 ends, but it will be presented as standalone session. The presenters will present a realistic scenario of the first planning cycle of an emergency response. The planning cycle will be demonstrated as the presenters play various response roles and attendees assume the role of Safety Officer. Attendees will be introduced to tools and resources available to all Safety Officers and supporting safety and health professionals. Package awards 4 Contact Hours. |
