Hazard & Control Banding Bundle (AIHce EXP 2017 OnDemand)

Bundle and Save!

This AIHce On Demand bundle includes 3 Hazard & Control Banding session recordings from AIHce 2017:

Occupational Exposure Bands for Chemicals Lacking an OEL
Health based occupational exposure limits (OELs) are a core tool for the risk assessments conducted by industrial hygienists (IH). Most chemicals encountered in the workplace have no published OEL. To address this gap, alternative strategies aimed at providing exposure limit guidance have been developed and will be discussed in this presentation. Additional methods will be described to provide chemical specific guidance where the data package is not adequate to derive an OEB.

Hazard Banding and REACH Exposure
Comparing One In-Company with Three Public Hazard Bandings Systems
Different Control Bands may prescribe different control regimes for the same substance because of differences in Hazard Bands. For global operating companies these differences hamper a coherent HSE approach. Therefore a global manufacturer of chemicals compared the HB approach of its in-company CB system with 3 public and well recognized CBs: BAuA-EMKG, IFA-Spaltenmodell and HSE-COSHH.
Testing Hazard Banding Strength against the OEL Value
Industrial hygiene worldwide will benefit from a more aligned and optimized hazard banding process.
GHS Combined with Control Banding
The first control banding web tools were developed over ten years ago. GHS implementation and technology advancements allows automatic and objective assignment of products to hazard bands making Control Banding accessible for entire site chemical inventories. Control icons can be sourced to SDSs and principal references then presented as icons for PPE, preventative, fire, spill, and first aid measures. Hazard and control summaries are presented as subsets for tasks or permit to work and smartphone applications.
