Bundle and Save! Occupational Exposure Bands for Chemicals Lacking an OEL Health based occupational exposure limits (OELs) are a core tool for the risk assessments conducted by industrial hygienists (IH). Most chemicals encountered in the workplace have no published OEL. To address this gap, alternative strategies aimed at providing exposure limit guidance have been developed and will be discussed in this presentation. Additional methods will be described to provide chemical specific guidance where the data package is not adequate to derive an OEB. Hazard Banding and REACH Exposure Comparing One In-Company with Three Public Hazard Bandings SystemsGHS Combined with Control Banding The first control banding web tools were developed over ten years ago. GHS implementation and technology advancements allows automatic and objective assignment of products to hazard bands making Control Banding accessible for entire site chemical inventories. Hazard and control summaries are presented as subsets for tasks or permit to work and smartphone applications. Package awards 2.5 Contact Hours |
