This standard established guidelines for the design and operation of laboratory ventilation systems to help personnel avoid over-exposure to harmful or potentially harmful contaminants in the laboratory. Discussed in detail are recommended requirements for operation of laboratory fume hoods, ductwork, fans, and storage facilities. Also addressed are methods for dealing with potential catastrophes and maintaining safe noise levels.
