Recorded at AIHce 2014 Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs) are important tools for managing worker exposures to chemicals; however, hazard data for many Engineered Nanomaterials (ENMs) are insufficient for deriving OELs by traditional methods. Issues and questions about how best to measure worker exposures to ENMs also pose a barrier to implementing OELs. This roundtable will present and discuss the current strategies including current progress, challenge and the future plans for setting OELs. Speakers are toxicologist, industrial hygienist, and health scientist who will present exposure dosimetry, sampling and analytical challenge, setting categorical OEL for nanomaterials. This roundtable aims to facilitate inputs Engaged discussions (two for 80 min) with broader practical audiences in the industrial settings twill further develop the strategies for setting OELs. In addition to the presentations of current progress, a presentation with global view of key challenges from industry, scientific and regulatory perspectives will take place.
